After graduating from Central Saint Martins College of Art and Design in 2009 with a degree in Graphic Design specializing in experimental image making, Production Q’s founder Queenie Rosita Law worked in Paris, where she honed her fascination with the unobserved moments of reality and how they are expressed visually in conjunction with her own perception of life.
Since then, she has included Hong Kong Fashion Week, DNA Galleria, Pedder Red, and Moiselle among her clients as a freelance photographer and image maker. However, while her interest in narrative and imagery emerges in her commercial work, it is more clearly expressed in her own artistic work, exhibited in London, Paris, Hong Kong, and Tokyo. Her pictures are made with a painting on photography method. She starts by taking the scenery from a film camera, exposing the images in darkroom, and painting on top of the photographic images to add effect.
Law’s interest in storytelling and capturing ephemeral moments is a fundamental aspect in her work as a visual artist and image maker. Blending photography and paint to highlight an instance or a mood that too easily slips away, she imbues her work with a deeply-felt sentiment to move and inspire those who see it to construct their own personal context to the visual narrative.
Law currently divides her time between Paris and Hong Kong.
